Malachi 3:10 (KJV) - "Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse... and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it" (See also Luke 6:38).

For someone who genuinely loves the Lord, the tithe is only the beginning of his or her giving. They give not only their tithe, but also offerings (plural), not grudgingly and not of necessity, but cheerfully with love. At The Summit Church Nashville, we believe wholeheartedly in the biblical principle of tithing for the work of the ministry and the advancement of God's Kingdom in the earth. Throughout Scripture, we are encouraged to give the first part of our resources to God as an expression of honor and gratitude.

"Honor the Lord with thy substance, and with the first fruits of all thine increase: so shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine" (Proverbs 3:9-10).
